May 4, 2019 –
Roadmap to Health is an innovative mobile health screening program that visits communities throughout 2019. Starting in New York City and traveling throughout the northeast, the mobile health fair will provide information and resources to residents to help address chronic disease and empower individuals with knowledge about their health. Conducted by an independent and experienced medical screening firm, this service is free of charge to New Yorkers.
At each stop, residents can receive free biometric health screenings that may include total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, blood pressure, and body mass index or BMI. An independent medical screening firm will administer and conduct the health screenings. Some events will also offer blood glucose screening, vision screening and pulmonary function tests – and some will provide access to a nutritionist or group exercise class.
The goals of the program are to remove barriers to health care that many communities across the nation face, as well as educate individuals about how they can protect, maintain and improve their health. Roadmap to Health will partner with community organizations and faith-based centers to reach community members who need the direct services provided by the mobile health fair.
