The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently announced that Medicare prescription premiums will remain constant in 2013.
This marks the third straight year where prescription drug premiums for will not increase. Medicaid recipients have also saved $3.9 billion on prescription drugs since the Affordable Care Act took effect.
Also a result of the Affordable Care Act, coverage for both brand name and generic drugs in the coverage gap will continue to increase over time until 2020, when the coverage gap will be fully closed.
