Opinions of Siblings of People with Developmental Disabilities Sought

One of our NYHW members has brought our attention to an effort by the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations to survey adult siblings of people with developmental disabilities.

The New York State Sibling Needs Assessment Survey launched August 1 and will conclude on December 31.  It is designed to identify the level of knowledge among adult siblings of available community supports and to identify support needs of this group as they try to manage their personal and working lives.

Survey findings and recommendations are expected to be released during the summer of 2013 and is designed to inform policy makers of the needs of this community.

The survey only takes 15 minutes, so please consider taking the time to complete and submit.  For people without internet access, call 607-255-1109.
