According to a recent Gallup poll, the uninsured rate for the first quarter has decreased to 11.9%.  That’s down from a high of 18% in 2013.  The current rate of uninsured adults is the lowest since Gallup began monitoring it in 2008.

This Tuesday the Senate voted for big changes to how Medicare reimburses Doctors.  The vote was 92-8.  President Obama is expected to sign the bill into law, which will save doctors from facing a 21% cut in fees.

NY State of Health, New York’s health insurance exchange, is participating in job fairs statewide over the next two months in order to educate more New Yorkers about getting healthcare coverage through the New York Exchange.

A recent NYU study found that certain people with epilepsy may benefit from cannabidiol, which is a component of medical marijuana.  Some of the patients taking the cannabidiol experienced significantly fewer seizures.
