During the most recent enrollment period, approximately one million people signed up for healthcare under the Affordable Care Act.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan told Republicans that the Zadroga Act will be part of a new spending bill for congress to pass.  The Zadroga Act provides health care for first responders who became ill as a result of working at the World trade Center site.

The United Health Foundation released its annual report of state health rankings.  New York Ranks 13^th in overall health, up from 14^th last year.

Infant mortality in the U.S fell to an all time low in 2014, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the healthcare sector is expected to add the most jobs between 2014 and 2024.

Governor Cuomo this week announced new proposed regulations to limit emissions from sources like diesel generators and natural gas engines.  The governor said “Establishing limits on these harmful emissions is a critical step towards protecting air quality, as well as the health of New Yorkers.”
