Governor Cuomo this week signed legislation to expedite access to medical marijuana for terminally ill patients.  New York’s medical marijuana program is scheduled to begin in 2016, although there is some question as to whether all five companies licensed to operate will be ready by that deadline.

Mayor Bill de Blasio along with members of New York’s Congressional Delegation pushed for a permanent extension of the Zadroga Act, which provides monitoring and treatment services for 9/11 related health issues.

The Supreme Court will hear a legal challenge to a Texas law that would dramatically reduce the number of abortion clinics in the state.

Senate Republicans’ efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act are complicated by the Senate’s complex rules.  Read more in the New York Times.
